Unlock breakthroughs in cryo-EM with the VitroJet sample preparation solution at the Specimen Preparation Workshop

February 5-9th, 2024 | Stanford SLAC National Accelerator Lab, USA

Are you on a quest for innovation in vitrifying your samples? Do you find yourself grappling with the optimization of that one elusive sample crucial for your cryoEM single particle analysis (SPA)? Look no further because you can now join the Specimen Preparation Workshop, taking place from February 5-9th at the prestigious Stanford SLAC National Accelerator Lab.

Immerse yourself in lectures on the latest best practices for optimizing cryo-EM grid preparation for SPA. All lectures will be available on Zoom, accessible to registered attendees.

Featured speakers:

  • Yanyan Zhao, Stanford
  • Rene Henderikx, CryoSol-World February 5th at 9:30-10:30 Pacific time | 18:30-19:30 CET | VitroJet automated control and reproducible cryo-EM sample preparation
  • Ouliana Panova, SPT Labtech

Key highlights:

Automated VitroJet mastery

Discover from the expert, Rene Henderikx, how the automated VitroJet can revolutionize your sample control and reproducibility with automated protocols. You can learn about the cutting-edge VitroJet recently acquired by Stanford, offering unparalleled possibilities for your research.

Precision in ice thickness

Dive deep into the world of ice thickness control and measurement for your samples. As you learned in cryo-electron microscopy structure determination, embedding biomolecules in vitreous ice of optimal thickness is critical. Ice thickness assessment and selection of suitable holes for data collection are currently part of time-consuming preparatory routines performed on expensive electron microscopes. For this reason, we developed a method to determine ice thickness already during sample preparation using the optical camera integrated in the VitroJet. As a result, the ice thickness of buffer-suspended holes on an EM grid can be determined faithfully in the working range relevant for single particle cryo-EM.

Interactive practical sessions

So this is why Stanford gives you the opportunity to learn and understand how the VitroJet provides you with the tools to achieve optimal results in single particle structure determination, all while saving valuable time.

Register in-time so you can seize the opportunity to apply your sample during the round-robin practical when you are joining in-person. Expert center staff will guide you through operating tools, freezing, and screening cryo-EM grids. So you can gain hands-on experience.
